Nick Saban's Alabama Crimson Tide coming back for revenge as No. 1 in AP Top 25

Nick Saban is arguably the greatest college football coach of all-time and what he's done during his tenure with the Alabama Crimson Tide backs that up.

Alabama is consistently — if not maddeningly — the best or one of the best teams in college football. Saban has it down to a science. So much so that Alabama recruits players based on certain metrics and athleticism traits based on position.

Is it any surprise, then, that Alabama finds itself on top of the AP preseason Top 25 yet again?

In the first poll of the 2022 season, 'Bama is ranked No. 1 ahead of Ohio State and even Georgia (No. 3). Keep in mind, that Georgia beat the Crimson Tide in last season's national championship game. Clemson and Notre Dame check in at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.

This is now the ninth time Alabama has started the season ranked No. 1 in the AP Poll. Perhaps even more impressive is the fact that the Crimson Tide has been in the top three for the past 13 seasons straight.

Already a scary opponent for everyone on the schedule, keep in mind that Alabama could be nearly unstoppable in 2022. The Tide feature Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young at quarterback, national defensive player of the year Will Anderson Jr. at linebacker, and a scorned Saban at the head of it all.
