The Penn State football team strives to keep the best players from Pennsylvania in Pennsylvania for their college football careers. More importantly, the Nittany Lions look to make sure that those players play for Penn State. Now, James Franklin and Andy Kotelnicki have a chance to secure an elite 2025 recruiting class quarterback prospect who happens to be from PA. This is Matt Zollers who plays his high school football at Spring-Ford. The Nittany Lions will know very soon if Zollers will be wearing Blue and White during his college career as he has now announced his commitment date.

No. 1 QB in PA, Penn State football target sets commitment date

Matt Zollers is a four-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class. He calls Royersford, PA his hometown, and has a big decision to make in the next few weeks. Zollers has narrowed his college choices down to four schools which include Georgia, Missouri, Pittsburgh, and Penn State.

According to 247Sports Zollers is the No. 1 player in PA and the No. 1 QB in PA in the 2025 recruiting class. Nationally he is the No. 6 QB in the 2025 class. Now, Chad Simmons of On3 has announced that Zollers will make his official commitment on April 4th.

Zollers set to return to Happy Valley ahead of commitment date

Before making his decision Zollers has plans to visit each of his final four schools one last time. The Penn State football team will get its chance to make a lasting impression when he returns to Happy Valley on March 29th according to Adam Friedman of Rivals. Zollers will visit the Georgia Bulldogs on April 2nd which is his final visit on the schedule.

If Penn State wants to keep this in-state prospect at home they will need to make Zollers understand the value he brings to the future of this team.
