Northwestern announced Wednesday that the school has a new permanent head coach. Previous head coach Pat Fitzgerald was fired in July in connection to a hazing and abuse scandal with the Northwestern football team.
David Braun, hired by Fitzgerald in January to be the Wildcats’ defensive coordinator, took over this season’s interim head coach position. He’s led the Wildcats to a 5-5 record, a season after the team was 1-11.
That’s impressed the school enough for him to have a new opportunity.
