After three straight games with 100 yards on the ground and the Auburn Tigers getting bowl eligible, Jarquez Hunter is officially on pace to rush for 1,000 yards this season.

The season started slowly, with Hunter missing the first game of the year and the offense not doing much during Auburn's losing streak, but Hunter sure is hitting his stride at the right time.

Hunter now has 745 rushing yards with two regular season games and a bowl game left to get to 1,000 yards on the ground.

This means that if Hunter can average 85 yards on the ground against New Mexico State, Alabama, and whoever Auburn plays in a bowl, he will get to the 1,000-yard mark.

What will secure Hunter getting to 1,000 yards is if he can pop off for 120+ against the New Mexico State Aggies on Saturday.

If Hunter was able to do that against the Tiger's final non-conference opponent, he would only need 68 yards against Alabama and in the bowl game to get to 1,000.

Auburn has a long history of 1,000-yard rushers, and Hunter would love to etch his name on this list at the end of the season.

It would be impressive if Hunter was able to get this done while missing the first game of the season, but his six yards per carry average this season is a big reason why he will get it done.
