The Ohio Bobcats are coming off a solid 2023 season. They were 9-3 overall and had a couple of big victories including one against the Iowa State Cyclones. As with many smaller programs, star players often try to find new opportunities after successful seasons. Starting quarterback Kurtis Rourke has reportedly entered the transfer portal.

Ohio Bobcats QB Kurtis Rourke Enters Transfer Portal

Rourke has been the starter for the last three years at Ohio. In the last three seasons, he has thrown for over 7,200 yards and 47 touchdowns. His best season was in 2022 when he had a near 70% completion percentage and over 3,200 yards passing. He enters the portal with likely one year left meaning he is looking for a team anxious to win now but simply needs a veteran quarterback under center. With so many quarterbacks in the portal, where will Rourke end up?

A Lot Of Fish In The Sea

There are plenty of quarterbacks to choose from in the portal and Rourke likely isn’t in the top ten of available ones. However, that doesn’t mean that he will not find a top program. After the best of the best battle it out for the top tier, many other teams in the Big Ten, SEC, and ACC will look for the next crop of quarterbacks that likely include Rourke. For a player who has been very productive in his college football career, he hopefully will get a chance to show off his skills on a national stage.

Where will everyone end up after all the dust settles? This will definitely be an interesting offseason for college football.
