Oklahoma's special teams efforts got a boost on Thursday.

Tyler Keltner, a graduate transfer kicker from Florida State, announced on Twitter he's committed to the Sooners.

Keltner is a graduate transfer who began his career at East Tennessee State. He attempted just one PAT for the Seminoles this season, but was a two-time All-Southern Conference kicker before that.

At ETSU, Keltner went 56-for-74 on field goal attempts and made 131-of-131 PATs, which produced 299 career points during his three years at ETSU.

Among his exploits at ETSU, he set the program records for field goals and PATs made and ranks second in school history in career points.

The Sooners are expected to have an open competition for the kicking job in 2024 as senior Zach Schmit returns from spotty success the last two seasons. Schmit went 12-of-18 on field goals in 2022 and was 15-of-21 in 2023.

The Sooners also signed local high school prospect Liam Evans as a preferred walk-on this year.

Keltner's .757 career field goal percentage is above the national average, and includes a school-record 54-yard field goal and a 51-yard field goal.

As a freshman, he made a program freshman record 14 field goals and was 27-of-27 on PATs to break program’s freshman record with 69 points scored.
