The Ole Miss Rebels have been loading up on talent this offseason, but they may be about to lose one of their own key players to the transfer portal.

Star running back Quinshon Judkins has decided to enter the transfer portal, according to multiple reports. Judkins, who was the SEC’s second-leading rusher in 2023, will immediately become one of the most sought-after talents in the portal.

This move definitely comes as a surprise, though it could be explained by Judkins simply trying to get more money out of Ole Miss or someone else. If he does leave, however, it would be a massive blow to Ole Miss. The program has brought in a lot of transfer talent while also bringing back players like quarterback Jaxson Dart. They can reasonably be counted as a potential top-10 team and contender to make the expanded College Football Playoff, so unless the motives are financial, it’s shocking to see Judkins considering leaving such a promising situation.

In two seasons with Ole Miss, Judkins has rushed for 2,723 yards and scored 34 touchdowns. He was an All-SEC selection this year, just one year after being honored as the conference’s top freshman. He is a marquee talent and potential NFL player, and one would expect most top programs will take a look at him.
