After not taking the field versus the Alabama Crimson Tide in Week 4, tight end Michael Trigg is officially no longer with the Ole Miss Rebels as of Tuesday, per Michael Katz of the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal.

"Ole Miss has confirmed with me that TE Michael Trigg is no longer with the team."

Trigg was previously disciplined by the Ole Miss coaching staff in Week 1 and was not allowed to enter the game versus the Mercer Bears until after halftime. It has not yet been confirmed why Trigg is no longer with the team.

In three games this season, Trigg caught four passes for 65 receiving yards and one touchdown. His lone highlight from the 2023 season came in Week 2 versus the Tulane Green Wave, when he caught a 21-yard touchdown pass to ice the game in favor of the Rebels.

Trigg had just started his second season at Ole Miss after spending his freshman year with the USC Trojans. In his college career, the junior has hauled in 28 receptions for 330 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

The 6-foot-4, 245-pound tight end transferred to Ole Miss ahead of the 2022 season with USC teammate Jaxson Dart, and while the latter has blossomed into a consistent starter with the Rebels, Trigg could never find his footing.

Injuries and off-field issues unfortunately cut Trigg's once-promising career at Ole Miss short.

At tight end, the Rebels are left with Caden Prieskorn - who is coming off his Ole Miss debut versus Alabama - and sophomore Kyirin Heath, as the only healthy veterans at the position.
