Oregon CB Deommodore Lenoir declares for 2021 NFL Draft

On Wednesday, Oregon senior cornerback Deommodore Lenoir announced via Twitter that he intends to enter the 2021 NFL Draft:

Earlier this week, Ducks offensive tackle Penei Sewell, viewed by many as a top-five player in next year's draft class, declared his intention to go pro.

Once the Pac-12 postponed football and other fall sports on Aug. 11 due to the coronavirus pandemic, athletes such as Lenoir and Sewell found themselves contemplating futures beyond collegiate careers. Per Pro Football Focus, Lenoir could become more of a coveted asset closer to the draft even if he won't be selected in the first round.

Lenoir tallied five interceptions across the last three seasons. According to the official Oregon website, PFF calculated that Lenoir limited opponents to a 54.1 completion percentage while being targeted 74 times, more than any other Ducks defensive back in 2019.

Back in June, Charlie Campbell of Walter Football projected Lenoir will land as a mid-round draft selection. Campbell added:

After rotating onto the field as a freshman, Lenoir became a starter in his second season and hasn't missed a start for Oregon since. He had a good junior year with solid coverage and tackling as a run defender. Lenoir could help himself by creating more splash plays as a senior.
