Pros

  • Grip Strength
  • Easy latch that can steer offensive lineman based on where he wants them to go
  • Pass Rush Moves
  • Excellent arsenal of moves for an interior defensive lineman. Pairs technique with length for continual wins
  • Quickness
  • Notable get-off with the ability to win vertically upfield based off of his timing off the snap alone

Cons

  • Tweener
  • A little short for the interior with a lack of lower body mass to drop his base and win against bigger linemen
  • Run Defense
  • Struggles at the point of attack, often getting washed down on double teams
  • Play Recognition
  • Late to recognize pulling guards or backside runs at times

Eval:

Teams are going to love Dorlus as a plug-and-play pass rusher from the interior as rushing the passer up and down the defensive line continues to be paramount in the league.

Dorlus’ ability to play on a down-to-down basis will be tested however, seeing as he lacks the body type and functional skill set to be a dominant run defender at this point of his career.
