Jackson Powers-Johnson, C, Oregon
Height/Weight: 6-3, 328
Age: 21.2
Strengths
- Climbing: Consistently works to the second level, getting up on backers and punishing DBs
- Processing: High FBI to recognize pressure and interior games
- Footwork: Tight steps with little to no wasted movement
Areas of Improvement-Concerns
- Reaching: Struggles to get across on athletic defensive tackles
- Fluidity: Fairly tight in the open field, won’t always be able to mirror the path of the defender
- Thin Lower Half: Most of his mass is concentrated above his hips
Evaluation:
JPJ checks the boxes to be a starting center in the league for a decade plus. He may not have the high-end athleticism like recent prospects including Tyler Linderbaum and Creed Humphrey but he has excellent strength, and plays with a cerebral understanding that will bode well for his NFL projection
James Foster’s Latest Big Board Ranking:
