Taliese Fuaga, OL, Oregon State
Height/Weight: 6-6, 324
Age: 22
Strengths
- Play Strength: Innate physicality that bullies well framed defenders
- Drive-Steer: Completely drives players off the ball with excellent hand usage and grip strength
- Length: Extended frame makes him a task to get around. Makes defenders work to corner him.
Areas of Improvement-Concerns
- Recovery: Can struggle to re-direct when initially beat. Doesn’t have elite counter skills
- Footwork: Needs to clean up the steps in his pass set and become more firm in his first move off the ball in run blocking
Evaluation:
Taliese Fuaga is an intriguing prospect because of his length and brute play strength, both of which project him to be a bully in the run game at the next level. Some teams believe he can continue to play and thrive at tackle, while others think a move to guard is more appropriate for his skillset. Either way, he won’t have to wait long to hear his name called come the draft.
