College football has been in quite the whirlwind over the past half week or so. Alabama's legendary head coach Nick Saban retired mid-week, sending a ripple throughout the sport.

Eventually, the Crimson Tide hired Kalen Deboer from Washington -- just after he showed his capability to reach the National Championship game -- leaving another high-profile job available. That's when the Huskies hired Jedd Fisch from Arizona.

Naturally, the Arizona job now needs filled, and it could see a first-time head coach earn a job at a program that's moving from the Pac-12 to the Big 12 next season. The Wildcats are coming off a 10-3 season with a bowl win over Oklahoma and saw a major program turnaround over the past three seasons.

With the head coaching job being vacant at Arizona, Andy Staples of On3 lists Kasey Dunn, Oklahoma State's offensive coordinator, as a potential candidate to keep an eye on as they look to fill the role.

"Dunn has been at Oklahoma State since 2011, so his Big 12 bona fides are clear. But the former Idaho receiver spent much of his early career on the west coast — including a stint as Arizona’s running backs coach from 2004-06. Dunn has contributed quite a bit to Oklahoma State’s outsize Big 12 success during his time there, and he would bring an intimate familiarity with the league and with how to win at a similarly situated program," Staples wrote.

Evidently, Dunn could see a move to Arizona and find some success. They're a program in a similar situation as Oklahoma State and he would be able to take an improved role in dong so.

Again, the Wildcats just underwent a massive program turnaround, and they'll be looking to maintain some consistency after an incredible season. Dunn, alongside Cowboys head coach Mike Gundy, has seen an impressive amount of success on a consistent basis since joining the program in 2011.

It would certainly be interesting to see Dunn get a shot to lead his own program after over a decade of coaching alongside Gundy in Stillwater.
