The Green Bay Packers have signed former Baylor Bears safety Christian Morgan as an undrafted free agent, according to KPRC’s Aaron Wilson.
Morgan played five seasons for the Bears. In 2022, he recorded 49 total tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, four passes defended, three interceptions, and a forced fumble.
The Packers have a need at safety. Incumbent starter Adrian Amos remains a free agent. Currently, former San Francisco 49ers safety Tarvarius Moore is projected to take over as the starter. He started 13 total games across four seasons in San Francisco.
The Packers made some moves in the secondary this weekend. In the seventh round, they selected Kentucky cornerback Carrington Valentine and Iowa State safety Anthony Johnson Jr. Following the draft, they signed both Morgan and Northern Iowa safety Benny Sapp III as undrafted free agents.
Morgan will face plenty of competition in training camp, but if he performs well, opportunities could open up for him.
