The last time that there was a college football video game, Denard Robinson was on the cover, the College Football Playoff wasn't a thing yet, and transferring schools was a rare occurrence.

This summer, the video game will make its long-awaited return in "College Football" 25" by EA Sports, and fans are as amped up as ever. The biggest topic of discussion outside of who makes for the best cover athlete, which has sparked a wave of disagreement online, is the debate for the highest player ratings in the game. Fans are throwing out names like Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, or Dillon Gabriel but in a recent article by 247Sports, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers was projected to be the highest-ranked quarterback in the game.

Brad Crawford broke down why he foresees Ewers being rated as a 96, which trailed only Oklahoma State running back Ollie Gordon (99) and Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter (97). Crawford explained that Ewers has a chance to generate some Heisman buzz, and that he had a tremendous finish to the season.

"You know there's going to be thousands of Texas fans playing College Football 25 wanting to tinker with the depth chart a bit at quarterback. Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning should both be at least 90 overall and we're expecting Ewers to be one of the highest-rated gunslingers on the game," wrote Crawford.

Realistically ratings don't matter to anyone except for the rabid fans and maybe the players themselves, but it does show how far Ewers has come as a quarterback to where he is being considered amongst the best in the sport. If he can improve his accuracy down the field in real life, his rating for it will match his throw power rating which should also be among the higher ones in the game.

Texas fans can finally lead their team to a virtual title again.
