It’s no secret that Auburn is the second team in the state of Alabama, right behind their rivals, the Alabama Crimson Tide. Still, with their head coaching retiring earlier this year, the Tigers could make themselves the number one team in the state if they can start winning.

Auburn Should Be A Key SEC Team In 2024

Auburn went 6-7 last season under new head coach Hugh Freeze, and they are looking to have a better year in 2024. It might seem bad that they finished under .500, but where the program was ending a few seasons ago, going 6-7 under Freeze in his first year isn’t that bad, and now they will have to try to find eight or nine wins this year.

The Tigers can still use some talent on both sides of the ball, and a report released on Tuesday night should give many fans hope that help is on the way.

Penn State Wide Receiver Has Narrowed Down His Schools

According to On3.com, Penn State’s transfer wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith is down to two schools: Auburn and Texas A&M.

Lamber-Smtih has 1,721 career receiving yards and 11 touchdowns and could be an upgrade in the Tigers’ receiving room if they were to land him.

Auburn Can’t Let KeAndre Lambert-Smith Get Away

The Tigers have to do whatever they can to ensure Lambert-Smith is playing at Auburn this upcoming season. If they don’t, Texas A&M will have landed him, and they can’t afford to lose a player who could have gone to their school and instead gone to another SEC team.

The Tigers have to play Texas A&M late in the season, and that game could be a possible matchup for a spot in the new 12-team college football playoff. Lambert-Smith could play a serious role in that game, and you want him on your sidelines.
