The big-time visitors keep piling up for the Ducks this weekend.

Michigan State defensive lineman Derrick Harmon will take a visit to Oregon, according to a report from Pete Nakos of On3 Sports.

The 6-foot-5, 320-pound defensive lineman is fresh off visits to Auburn and Ohio State, as he explores his options in the transfer portal. He has one season of eligibility remaining.

Harmon spent three seasons with the Spartans, playing in 28 games and recording 71 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and 3 sacks. He also broke up two passes, forced one fumble and recovered one fumble.

Prior to arriving in East Lansing, Harmon was a three-star (0.8578 according to the 247Sports Composite) recruit at Detroit (Mich.) Loyola High School. He was ranked the No. 968 player nationally, the No. 117 defensive lineman and the No. 26 recruit in Michigan.

Torres' Take

It's smart that Oregon is looking to bring in some reinforcements from the transfer portal, particularly along the interior of the defensive line. Brandon Dorlus, Casey Rogers, Taki Taimani and Popo Aumavae will all move on from the program following this season, which means the Ducks are losing some beef up front.

The cupboard is far from bare for Dan Lanning though.

It seems that signs are pointing toward a return for Jordan Burch next season on the edge and the Ducks signed a number of standout players along the defensive line in the 2023 recruiting class including Terrance Green, Johnny Bowens III, A'Mauri Washington and My'Keil Gardner

I've been told that Harmon is almost like an upgraded version of Jordon Riley from the 2022 season. Dan Lanning and Tony Tuioti have done a great job of identifying and recruiting defensive lineman in the portal and Harmon could be next in line.
