Texas State head coach G.J. Kinne will reportedly be reuniting with the man who coached him as a player during his days at Tulsa. Chad Morris looks set to join the Bobcats staff after serving as Kinne's OC with the Golden Hurricane in 2010.

Ishmael Johnson of Dave Campbell's Texas Football reported on Friday afternoon that the former Arkansas and SMU head coach would join G.J. Kinne's staff as the passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach. Morris would replace Craig Stutzmann, who was recently hired as the offensive coordinator at San José State.

In three seasons as the head coach of the Mustangs, Morris amassed a 14-22 record with one winning season (7-5) in 2017. He then went on to become the head coach of Arkansas, where he went 4-18 in two seasons.

Morris has also had success as a high school coach in Texas, in addition to notable stints as an assistant at Clemson and South Florida.
