The Lamar Jackson contract situation is one that has many fans, former players, and media personalities alike questioning what is going on in the NFL.

There have been more teams removing themselves as suitors than there have been teams being reported as possible destinations. The issue that is hindering Jackson from finding a team stems from the Cleveland Browns trading for Deshaun Watson and giving him a guaranteed $230 million deal, despite the fact he was facing double-digit accusations of off-field sexual misconduct.

Jackson is believed to want similar if not better compensation than Watson who is a far less proven quarterback, and quite frankly is nowhere near the talent level of Jackson. The former MVP, Jackson, has already been passed on by the Raiders, Dolphins, Falcons, Panthers, and Commanders.

Now Jackson is going for a minimum of two first round draft picks, but to put that into perspective The Rams and Broncos gave up similar packages for Matthew Stafford and Russell Wilson. Jackson also comes at the price of wanting a fully guaranteed deal, and in a very rare move does not have representation, which just means that he has no one banking on him to make a decision that he has to pay. He holds all the cards, and can do whatever he pleases.

Even despite his injury history and the aforementioned factors that may be deterring teams, it still doesn't make a ton of sense as to how the 26-year old MVP has no takers. Something that former Cardinal and NFL star Richard Sherman, who he himself didn't have an agent, has been very vocal about.

Sherman took to Twitter to express his frustrations, and even went as far to say that there is collusion taking place.

Sherman isn't the only star or notable figure to take exception to what is going on with Jackson as JJ Watt, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, and Robert Griffin III have all spoken out with support of Jackson.

The NFL is under fire yet again, as they should be.
