SEC boasts seven programs in AP Top 25 after South Carolina beat Texas A&M

The South Carolina Gamecocks have made a name for themselves over their past two games, and as a result, they've been rewarded with their first AP Top 25 ranking since 2018.

The Gamecocks went to Kentucky in their Week 6 matchup with the No. 13 Wildcats and walked away with a 24-14 win. They then followed that up by potentially putting the nail in the coffin that is Texas A&M's 2022 season.

The Gamecocks beat the Aggies, 30-24, and they now find themselves ranked No. 25 in the nation.

It's just head coach Shane Beamer's second season at South Carolina, but it's a huge milestone for the program. The last time South Carolina was ranked was back in the 2018 season, and it was a Top 25 ranking that only held for a week at the time.

With South Carolina back in the Top 25, the SEC as a whole is once again well-represented.

Georgia is still ranked as the No. 1 team in the nation after a bye week. No. 3 Tennessee rolled UT Martin, 65-24, and Alabama stood pat at No. 6 after a bounce-back win over Mississippi State. Ole Miss fell from No. 7 to No. 15 after losing to LSU. Speaking of the Tigers, Brian Kelly's squad is back in the Top 25 after that win. LSU checks in at No. 18.

Kentucky is ranked No. 19 nationally and the Gamecocks, of course, round out the SEC portion of the Top 25.
