SEC contender lands four-star offensive lineman Tavaris Dice

SEC football is won in the trenches and for the Auburn Tigers and head coach Hugh Freeze, that means that every big offensive lineman who ends up in the plains is a big piece of the puzzle.

That's especially true when said offensive lineman recruit is a big-timer and that sure is the case for new Auburn four-star offensive tackle commitment Tavaris Dice.

Dice, who checks in at 6-foot-4, 295 pounds as a rising senior in high school, is ranked as the No. 17 offensive tackle in the 2025 class, according to 247Sports. He committed to the Tigers over Florida and Missouri.

Dice took a visit to Auburn's campus earlier this week and that must have been what turned the tide in the Tigers' favor.

"Got down here early and met up with the coaches," the four-star told 247Sports regarding his visit to Auburn. "I met up with Coach Hugh Freeze and I had a really good talk with him about what this program could be, what he’s trying to get it. What he’s building here in the ‘24 and ‘25 class, so that was good."

Auburn's staff also did a good job of winning over Dice's family.

"Man, they loved it," Dice said. "They was up there and took a look around the campus, they love everything Auburn has to give you — all the opportunities you can have. Good football, in the SEC and for my grandmom and mom to get up there and smile like that and have fun with the staff, that was big for me."

Freeze now has eight 2025 commitments and his class is currently ranked No. 7 in the country. Dice projects to be a big part of it.
