Some truly shocking news regarding Nick Saban emerged on Wednesday.
ESPN’s Chris Low reported that Saban is retiring.
Saban has coached Alabama since 2007. The 72-year-old coach went 206-29 during his incredible career with the Tide and won six national championships with the team. He also served as a head coach at Toledo, Michigan State and LSU prior to Alabama, and he won a national title with the Tigers, giving him seven overall.
Saban also had a two-year stint in the NFL as the head coach of the Miami Dolphins from 2005-2006. He went 15-17 in those two seasons.
Saban’s retirement comes after Alabama went three years without winning a national championship for the first time during his career with the Tide.
