TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Alabama running back Jase McClellan missed practice for the second consecutive day on Tuesday, sources told BamaCentral.

McClellan also missed practice on Monday. He is dealing with a lingering foot injury that was reaggravated late in the Crimson Tide's 27-24 thrilling win at Auburn.

McClellan played in all 12 regular season games, and leads Alabama with 803 rushing yards on 166 attempts. He is second on the team with six rushing touchdowns, behind just Jalen Milroe, who has 12 on the season. McClellan also has 13 receptions for 126 yards.

If McClellan misses Saturday's SEC championship against No. 1 Georgia, it will be up to Roydell Williams, Jam Miller and Justice Haynes to step up in the backfield.

"This is a tremendous opportunity for our team," head coach Nick Saban said Monday. "They sort of created that for themselves by making a tremendous amount of improvement throughout the season. I'm very proud of the transformation of our team from the beginning to the end, the hard work and preparation that our players have been focused on all year long."

"There's a lot of challenges relative to playing a great football team. The SEC championship game is one of the best competitive venues I've ever been involved in. Our team is excited about having the opportunity they created for themselves to play one of the best teams in the country."

The Crimson Tide and Bulldogs are set for a 3 p.m. CT kickoff on CBS.

BamaCentral will continue to monitor McClellan's status all week.
