The Texas Christian University Horned Frogs began spring practices on March 23 in preparation for this Saturday’s spring game in Amon G. Carter Stadium.
Kickoff for this year’s spring game will be at 2 p.m. with gate 1 on the west side of the stadium and gates 6, 8, and 10 on the east side opening up at 1 p.m. for spectators.
The Horned Frogs are coming off a disappointing season following their run to the National Championship game in 2022, finishing the 2023 season with a record of just 5-7 and missing out on the opportunity to play in a bowl game.
A total of 20 players are currently set to transfer into TCU and join the Horned Frogs during the 2024 season, with many of these players expected to make an immediate impact once the season begins.

Spectators at Saturday’s game can look toward multiple returning players to make plays during the scrimmage, with senior Savion Williams catching eyes during spring practices.
Following practice on April 19, senior cornerback Avery Helm discussed the defensive gameplan of new coordinator Andy Avalos, noting that he is running a “much more difficult scheme” than last year but it has already proven to be beneficial for the team’s defensive backs.
“I'm gonna say this, everybody we brought in for the cornerback room, all of us can play. There’s competition every day. Nothing’s guaranteed. It's competition. It's competition across the board,” he said, according to Killer Frogs.
Saturday’s scrimmage will also feature an event sponsored by the university called “Frogapalooza” with live music from the country cover band The Texases and $3 food and drinks.
TCU students who attend the event will also receive a free tank top, Kona shaved ice, and opportunities for giveaways at multiple different food stations.
