TCU lineman turning heads due to his massive size
A year after Heisman Trophy finalist quarterback Max Duggan led TCU to the College Football Playoff finals, TCU has a new big man on campus: 455-pound offensive tackle Brione “Big Bubba” Ramsey-Brooks.
He first caught college football fans' attention in April 2022 at the Rivals Camp in Dallas. However, at that time, Brooks-Ramsey was only a slim 380 pounds. He must have eaten a lot of Wheaties over the last 16 months.
Already 75 pounds bigger than the largest NFL player, New England's Trent Brown, Ramsey-Brooks is going to be a player to watch this season for the Horned Frogs.
As WFAA noted earlier this week, he’s already garnered a devoted fan base.
He moves incredibly well for a man of his size. In a viral clip featuring some of his highlights, Ramsey-Brooks (No. 58) easily handled defensive lineman in high school.
TCU is coming off a dream season that ended in sleep paralysis. The Horned Frogs qualified for the College Football Playoff for the first time in program history and defeated No. 2 Michigan in a CFP semifinal.
In the national title against Georgia, TCU couldn't move the ball on offense or stop the Bulldogs on defense, resulting in the Horned Frogs being outgained 589-188 in total offense and losing in a route, 65-7.
The big takeaway from that game was how much bigger, stronger and faster Georgia was than TCU. Ramsey-Brooks shows the Horned Frogs took that lesson to heart,
