CINCINNATI — Bearcats star Desmond Ridder is expected to be one of the first quarterbacks taken in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The 22-year-old has the size, athleticism, arm strength and intangibles that teams are looking for at the quarterback position, but they're worried about his accuracy.

"With Ridder, really, the central question is clear, and that’s whether or not you think his accuracy can be corrected," Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer wrote. "Some coaches think, because he never really worked with a personal coach until after his junior year, that intensive mechanical work could do for him what it once did for Josh Allen. Others are harder to convince."

Will a team like the Saints, Steelers or Titans be willing to take Ridder in round one?

"You do hear a little buzz that Ridder could sneak in the bottom of the first round, and teams certainly have the radar up for Tennessee taking him," Breer wrote.

Ridder has gotten significantly better in each of the past four seasons. There's no reason why that growth would stop in the NFL. If anything, he should benefit from NFL-level coaching.
