After six seasons, Tennessee Tech announced that head coach Dewayne Alexander will not return next season.

"Dewayne Alexander is a proud Tech Football alum and we thank him for all of the hard work and dedication he has poured into this program for the past six seasons," said Director of Athletics Mark Wilson. "We truly appreciate the devotion and commitment he showed to our student-athletes. We certainly wish him and his family great success in their future endeavors."

Alexander is 19-43 over his six seasons with the Golden Eagles. He led the program to a 6-6 record in his second season but never finished with a winning record at Tennessee Tech. He was hired after coaching stints at East Tennessee State and Cumberland.

The Golden Eagles will conduct a national search for the next head football coach and have already started reaching out to potential candidates, according to FootballScoop
