The retirement of Nick Saban at Alabama has started a chain reaction in and around college football, as the transfer portal is now open for two programs and counting.

Alabama players, and now Washington players, following Kalen DeBoer leaving Seattle for Tuscaloosa all have a 30-day window to transfer if they choose.

As expected, top players from both programs have hit the portal, with the Longhorns having already landed a commitment from the top Alabama receiver, Isaiah Bond, who announced his commitment on Sunday.

The Longhorns appear to not be done in the portal yet either, as according to a report by Gerry Hamilton of On3, the Longhorns were also in contact with Washington corner Jabbar Muhammad, who was in Dallas on Saturday.

The DeSoto, Texas native started his career at Oklahoma State before transferring to Washington ahead of this past season.

Amid Washington's run to the title game, Muhammad was tied for the team lead in interceptions with three, and was also credited with 12 pass breakups by PFF. If the last name rings a bell, Muhammad also happens to be the older cousin of Texas freshman stud corner Malik Muhammad.

Ahead of the Sugar Bowl, Jabbar revealed a family secret about his younger cousin Malik.

"He used to cry when he couldn't spend the night over at my house, that's how close we are," Muhammad said to the media before the game. "Now we get to bump heads and I'm ready for it.

The Longhorns have their work cut out for them with programs like Oregon and presumably Alabama where DeBoer landed likely in the mix for Jabbar.
