Texas Southern is expected to part ways with head coach Clarence McKinney, according to Kenn Rashad of HBCU Sports. The university will not renew McKinney's contract, which expires on Dec. 15.
McKinney is 12-34 over five seasons with the Tigers and has failed to finish with a winning record as the head coach at Texas Southern. He was named the head coach in 2018 after serving as an assistant under Kevin Sumlin at Texas A&M and Arizona.
Texas Southern is currently 3-7 (2-5 SWAC) this season with a matchup against Arkansas Pine-Bluff remaining on the schedule. The Tigers defeated Alcorn State in a shocking 44-10 upset win on Sunday.
The university has yet to make a formal announcement but is expected to release an official statement in the coming days.
