This College Football Playoff team is ideal for a transfer portal QB

Of the four College Football Playoff semifinalists, three -- Georgia, Ohio State, and TCU -- have questions at quarterback heading into next season.

Only one -- Ohio State -- returns Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka, two of the best receivers in college football. That makes the Buckeyes the most attractive destination for QBs on the open market.

Among the talented QBs with starter potential in the transfer portal are J.T. Daniels (West Virginia in 2022), Spencer Sanders (Oklahoma State), and Devin Leary (North Carolina State).

Harrison Jr. and Egbuka allowed the Buckeyes to withstand the loss of teammate Jaxon Smith-Njigba for the majority of the season. His record-breaking Rose Bowl performance against Utah left everyone in Columbus excited for what was to come in 2022. A lingering hamstring injury resulted in him missing all but three games.

In his place, Harrison Jr. and Egbuka proved to be the best receiving duo in college football. Harrison finished the regular season with 72 receptions for 1,157 yards and 12 touchdowns. Egbuka had 66 catches for 1,039 yards and nine touchdowns.

Georgia, TCU, and Ohio State have unproven -- but talented -- options behind their 2022 Heisman finalists, C.J. Stroud, Stetson Bennett IV, and Max Duggan.

In 12 games at Ohio State, Kyle McCord has completed 41-of-58 passes (70.7 percent) for 606 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions. He was 16-for-20 of 190 yards and a touchdown this season.

Carson Beck served as Georgia's backup, going 24-of-32 (75 percent) for 279 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions in six games.

Duggan was backed up primarily by Chandler Morris, and Sam Jackson also took snaps and showed promise. Based on experience, Morris would appear to have the edge.

Michigan is set at QB next season with J.J. McCarthy.

If Georgia, Ohio State and TCU don't like what they see from the 2022 backups, they know where they can find another QB.

QBs in the transfer portal should know where they can find two of college football’s best wide receivers, too.
