Tight end McCallan Castles only spent one season with the Tennessee Vols after transferring to UT from UC-Davis, but it was a memorable season for the California native.
Castles caught 22 passes for 283 yards and five touchdowns during his one season on Rocky Top.
Two of Castles' touchdown receptions were tossed by quarterback Nico Iamaleava, the first two passing touchdowns of Nico's career.
Castles told reporters that he had Nico sign his gloves after catching the former five-star recruit's first career touchdown pass.
But while catching Nico's first touchdown pass was undoubtedly a special moment for Castles, that wasn't his favorite moment of his lone season with the Vols.
Instead, that moment came during Tennessee's game against Alabama in Tuscaloosa this past season.
Catching a touchdown pass against Alabama in what ended up being Nick Saban's final season as the Crimson Tide's head coach was a special moment for Castles.
"Obviously, we didn’t win the game, but scoring at Alabama was a big deal for me," said Castles to Windy City Gridiron last week. "I didn’t know it was gonna be [Nick] Saban’s last season, but to score a touchdown against probably the greatest college coach to ever do it was pretty crazy. Just every SEC game was a something out of a movie for me; you go from playing at UC Davis to a stadium that holds 100,000 to 110,000."
Castles may have only spent a season at Tennessee, but he made that one season count thanks to some special moments that he'll never forget.
