Tom Brady offers advice to Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders

Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders is as talented as they come. He's thrown for 10 touchdowns with just one interception so far this season and is a major reason why Colorado — a perennial bottom-feeder — is 3-0 and ranked No. 19 in the national polls.

Sanders seems to be the real deal, so much so that he's getting legitimate Heisman-candidate hype. Having your father being Deion Sanders can't hurt, of course. There's also a mentoring relationship with Tom Brady that has become public. Learning the ins and outs of the game from two GOATS certainly has to be one of the reasons behind Shedeur's success.

Recently talking to Deion on his podcast, though, Brady — the seven-time Super Bowl winner — gave a little bit more than X's and O's advice to the young quarterback. Brady thought he was just talking to Coach Prime, but then Shedeur hopped into the conversation.

“Listen, stay humble over there, young man,” Brady said, chuckling, via On3. “I know I’m saying a lot of nice things about you. You shouldn’t be hearing all this, I’d rather be telling your dad this and just tell you to get back to work.

“But, you know, it’s just great to watch and just to see, you know, this youthful spirit and this program that has been really turned around in a short period of time because of great leadership. It’s always about the people and caring about one another, caring about what you’re trying to accomplish. And, you know, Deion and Shedeur are great leaders for that team.”

Colorado has beaten last year's national champion runner-up, TCU, Nebraska and in-state rival Colorado State in a double-overtime win.

The Buffaloes have their biggest test of the season coming up, though, and it's arguably the game where we'll see if the hype surrounding the Sanders bunch can sustain contender expectations.

Colorado will take on No. 10 Oregon this weekend in Eugene.
