No. 1 quarterback recruit Dylan Raiola has made a major decision about his college future.

Raiola, the consensus top quarterback in the 2024 class, has decided to switch his commitment from Georgia to Nebraska, according to ESPN's Pete Thamel. The quarterback had previously committed to Georgia in May.

According to Mitch Sherman of The Athletic, Raiola had informed Nebraska of his plans while on an official visit last weekend.

The decision is likely to have huge ramifications, even if it does not come as a total surprise. Current Georgia quarterback Carson Beck announced Monday that he would return for his senior season, which may or may not have impacted Raiola’s plans. However, it seemed that things had been trending this way for some time.

For Nebraska, this is the biggest accomplishment of head coach Matt Rhule’s tenure to date. Raiola is the No. 2 overall recruit in the 2024 class, and he has the potential to be a star at the college level. The Cornhuskers were undoubtedly helped by the fact that Raiola’s father Dominic was a star center for Nebraska over two decades ago, and they used that connection to their advantage.

Raiola had initially committed to Ohio State before he reopened his recruitment and chose Georgia. That lasted nine months, and he will now be playing for Nebraska in 2024.
