Torrey Smith's mother accidentally smashed college MVP trophies

Torrey Smith kept his college MVP trophies in great condition for nearly a decade. Unfortunately for the two-time Super Bowl champion, those trophies have been destroyed.

After Smith won the prized trophies during his career at the University of Maryland, his mom agreed to hold on to them until he got a nice place to display them. The 31-year-old finally found a place to keep them and went to visit his mother to retrieve them.

As his mother was carrying the trophies down the stairs, she tripped, fell and smashed the trophies. The heads fell off the awards and parts of the legs were shattered.

In three seasons at Maryland, Smith reeled in 152 receptions for 2,215 yards and 19 touchdowns. He also had 66 yards and one touchdown rushing. His best season, of course, came as a junior, when he reeled in 67 receptions for 1,055 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Smith was drafted 58th overall by the Baltimore Ravens in 2011. During his NFL career with the Ravens, San Francisco 49ers, Carolina Panthers and Philadelphia Eagles he caught 319 passes for 5,141 yards and 41 touchdowns.

He won Super Bowl XLVII as a member of the Ravens and Super Bowl LII with the Eagles.
