Tua Tagovailoa: 'I feel 100 percent' following hip surgery

One of the 2020 NFL Draft's most highly rated prospects is feeling good after undergoing hip surgery in November. Among doubts that Tua Tagovailoa won't be what he was before surgery, the Alabama quarterback feels that he could compete in an NFL game today if he had to.

"I feel 100 percent," Tagovailoa said in an interview with NFL Network's Steve Wyche. "I feel like if there was a game today, I'd be able to go out and perform the same way I was able to perform in previous years. I feel as mobile as possible. I feel 100 percent."

Tagovailoa has been fully cleared for action and is expected to be the second QB taken behind LSU's Joe Burrow in this year's draft. The young QB said his agency has provided teams with updated medical information and workout/performance videos.

Tagovailoa would not reveal which teams he has met with virtually, but he noted many of the conversations he's had have been about football as opposed to his health.

"I have no control over the circumstance or situation," he said. "If I was healthy, if I wasn't, I would have no control. So, the best thing I can do is continue to work. Whatever team decides to choose me, I would be grateful."

With Burrow set to go first overall to the Cincinnati Bengals, Tagovailoa has been projected to go as early as third overall to the Los Angeles Chargers.

With L.A. deciding to roll with Tyrod Taylor in 2020, it wouldn't be surprising if the Chargers think Tagovailoa can be their QB of the future.
