In arguably the G5's most anticipated matchup of the weekend, #23 Tulane defeated UTSA in New Orleans by a final score of 29-16.

Michael Pratt completed just nine passes on 22 attempts for 125 yards, but threw two touchdowns and no interceptions. Pratt also lost a fumble. Running back Makhi Hughes carried 26 times for 166 yards and a touchdown.

Here's what stood out from the battle at Yulman Stadium.

Bad Ball Security From The Roadrunners

Just about everything that could have gone wrong for UTSA did...especially in the first half. UTSA had four turnovers in the first half alone and five total.

Frank Harris threw two interceptions while tight end Oscar Cardenas also threw one on a trick play. Kevorian Barnes and Robert Henry also lost a fumble each.

To add insult to injury, the Roadrunners turned the ball over on downs three times in the contest.

Bravo Brazzell

Tulane freshman receiver Chris Brazzell II, a Midland, Texas native, built on his reputation as one of the better deep-ball specialists in the G5 on Saturday. Brazzell caught five passes for a game-leading 93 yards with two touchdowns. His touchdown catches were anything but pedestrian, showing great hands and strong route-running ability.

UTSA Aren't Technically Out...

Even with the Roadrunners' loss, their hope of reaching the AAC title game have a faint pulse. They'll need some help from Navy on Saturday. The Midshipmen face SMU in Dallas at Noon ET. If Navy win that game, UTSA and Tulane will have a rematch next week in New Orleans. If SMU win, it will be the Mustangs and the Green Wave in the championship game.
