USA TODAY Sports

UC wide receiver Braden Smith joined Dominick Goodman and me on the Bearcat Blitz podcast this week with an update on his foray into aviation.

The wide receiver flew past Pittsburgh to the tune of 59 receiving yards and a touchdown on six catches plus a nice pass completion as well this past Saturday. He's also a pilot in training, a skill teammates are eager to see in action.

"Yeah, told a couple of the guys after we got our first win in Nippert we could go up and fly around Nippert," Smith said on the show. "They've been on my tail about it ever since. So, maybe one of these days we'll sneak one in and go up and have some fun."

Smith is operating a four-seat single-prop plane as he continues to learn the ropes.

"I'm still in the training process, right now," Smith said. "I just got licensed in the single prop type plane, just a small little four-seater type trainer so just working my way up through there. I've been having fun with it and I plan on continuing it."

Keep your eyes peeled above Nippert Stadium for Smith and a few teammates one of these days.

Check out the full episode below with Smith's interview starting around the 15:30-minute mark.
