With Caleb Williams' USC Trojans football career nearing its end, his longtime backup Miller Moss is getting some shine on Wednesday when he'll start under center for the club.

USC is prepping for a Holiday Bowl matchup at Petco Park in San Diego, when it will strive to fend off against the Louisville Cardinals.

Moss is hoping to make the most of his chance behind center, as Luca Evans of The Orange County Register details.

Evans cautions, however, that Moss' tenure at the top of the signal calling food chain may be short-lived, as head coach Lincoln Riley has suggested he may be adding up to two other quarterbacks via the league's transfer portal, with Kansas State's Will Howard expected to officially join soon.

“I mean, been competing my whole life,” he said months ago about anticipated QB1 competition. “So – let’s go.”

As Evans notes, across his three seasons with the program thus far, Moss has registered a scant 59 pass attempts.

“We play a difficult sport, I play a difficult position, it’s hard to win football games at this level – it has to be earned,” Moss said. “And if you turn and run or whatever it is at the first sign of adversity, you’re never going to grow as a football player or as a human being as a whole.”
