Vanderbilt's Sarah Fuller to take part in Joe Biden's presidential inauguration
Vanderbilt's Sarah Fuller will be further recognized for her athletic achievements during Joe Biden's presidential inauguration on Wednesday.
Fuller is expected to speak during the inauguration of Vice President-elect Kamala Harris, who will be the first female veep in U.S. history. Fuller filmed her speech at Vanderbilt's football stadium last week and shared some photos to Twitter on Sunday, calling it an "honor" to participate in the inauguration.
Fuller became the first woman to score in a Power 5 game in December against the Tennessee Volunteers after kicking the extra point following a Vanderbilt touchdown.
The Vanderbilt women's soccer team's goalkeeper was recruited as a kicker after members of the Commodores football team had to quarantine due to COVID-19 policies. She tried out and did well enough to make the team.
However, Fuller played her first and last football games for the Commodores in 2020. She is expected to transfer to North Texas before the fall 2021 semester.
