Virginia's all-time passing leader, Brennan Armstrong, to enter the transfer portal

Brennan Armstrong has had a tremendous career for the Virginia Cavaliers. It's hard to shake a stick at what he's done over the past five seasons in Charlottesville.

It's a bit surprising, then, to hear that Armstrong has decided to play out his final year of eligibility somewhere else. He'll be entering the college football transfer portal as a graduate transfer candidate. He'll have an opportunity to make an immediate impact for some other program.

Again, though, the impact he's made at Virginia is hard to understate.

When it comes to quarterbacks for the Cavaliers, none have been better. That's a list that includes the likes of Don Majkowski, Aaron Brooks, and Matt Schaub, mind you, so that's saying something.

Armstrong will leave Virginia as the school's leader in career passing yards, total offense, and passing touchdowns.

He completed 60.6.% of his passes for the Cavs while throwing for 9,034 yards and 58 touchdowns compared to 35 interceptions.

With Michigan transfer Cade McNamara now committed to Iowa, it's more than likely that Armstrong will be the most sought-after transfer quarterback in the portal.
