Watch: Akron's botched option play leads to game-winning Central Michigan touchdown
We had some hilarious MAC action on Saturday afternoon when Central Michigan was able to get a 28-21 win over Akron thanks to a late defensive touchdown by Thomas Incoom with less than two minutes to play in the fourth quarter of a tied game.
It turned out to be a pretty easy scoop-and-score for Incoom after Akron completely botched an option play and just left the football sitting there on the field.
Akron's ensuing offensive possession did not go much better, while that play was a perfect example of how its running game went for the day. The Zips rushed for just 20 yards on 28 attempts.
Incoom, by the way, had a monster day for Central Michigan, recording three tackles, 1.5 sacks, another tackle for a loss, and the game-winning fumble recovery and touchdown.
Both teams were 1-5 entering action on Saturday. Central Michigan improved to 2-5 with the win while Akron goes to 1-6 on the season.
