Watch: OSU WR Marvin Harrison Jr. posts three first-half TDs vs. Michigan State
Marvin Harrison Jr.'s monstrous season continues.
On Saturday night against Michigan State, Harrison had a first half to remember for No. 1 Ohio State. The electric junior wideout found the endzone three times before halftime, helping the Buckeyes take a commanding 35-3 lead over the Spartans at the break.
While Harrison is known for his pass-catching abilities, he opened the scoring on the ground, taking a handoff 19 yards for a touchdown to give Ohio State a 7-0 lead minutes into the game.
Harrison struck again on the Buckeyes' next possession, this time through the air. Four plays into the drive, quarterback Kyle McCord found Harrison for a 26-yard score, and Ohio State was up 14-0 in the blink of an eye.
Keeping the trend alive, Harrison hit paydirt for the third time in as many possessions, hauling in a nine-yard TD pass from McCord at the start of the second quarter.
Harrison finished the half with six receptions for 92 yards (15.3 YPC) and two scores. On the year, Harrison has 58 catches (12 TDs) and 1,006 yards, becoming the first Ohio State receiver ever to eclipse 1,000 yards receiving in back-to-back seasons.
A week after passing Hall of Fame receiver Cris Carter in the Ohio State record books, Harrison's two first-half touchdowns give him 29 for his career. He's one touchdown away from tying Devin Smith for the third-most among receivers in Buckeyes history. If and when he surpasses Smith, Harrison will trail only David Boston (32) and Chris Olave (35).
