Watch: RB Blake Corum sets Michigan record vs. Ohio State
Michigan running back Blake Corum set the program record for rushing touchdowns in a season as the Wolverines struck first in their showdown with Ohio State.
Corum scored from inside the 1-yard line on a 4th-and-goal, giving him 21 rushing touchdowns this season, a school record.
Michigan's scoring drive was set up by defensive back Will Johnson's interception of Buckeyes quarterback Kyle McCord.
The Wolverines are aiming for a third consecutive win in the series.
They won last year's game, 45-23, but that one was competitive until Michigan blew the game open in the fourth quarter thanks to touchdown runs of 75 and 85 yards by RB Donovan Edwards.
Corum, a senior, suffered a knee injury the week prior to last year's meeting in a game against Illinois. He attempted to play against the Buckeyes but only ran the ball twice in the win. He had season-ending knee surgery on Dec. 1, 2022 and announced his decision to return for his senior year on Jan. 9.
"It was a business decision," said Corum. "I think I have unfinished business."
With his touchdown run, Corum is close to settling it.
