On a night that was already filled with rough moments for North Carolina Tar Heels quarterback Sam Howell, things got even worse after he got destroyed on a crushing hit.

Things started off well for the freshman when he made a nasty juke move to avoid a blitzing defender before he took off running. Unfortunately for Howell, Wake Forest Demon Deacons linebacker Justin Strnad came through and wiped him out.

North Carolina’s 18-year-old quarterback is doing his best to hang on and try to lead his team on a comeback. Howell has received plenty of credit for his mental toughness early in his collegiate career, but the ability to get up and keep playing after that hit displays his physical toughness as well.
