The Mississippi State Bulldogs will likely have a stress-free National Signing Day under first-year head coach Jeff Lebby. What used to be considered the equivalent of a national holiday in the college football world has lost a lot of luster over the past few years due to the Early Signing Day in December. The Bulldogs took advantage of the December signing date by signing 31 players.

The Bulldog class has 22 high schoolers and 15 players from the transfer portal. MSU currently has a consensus top-30 class, which is an impressive turnaround for Lebby and his staff.

Lebby made an immediate impact once he arrived in Starkville as he signed three four-star players on the offensive side of the ball: two receivers, Mario Craver and Braylon Burnside, and quarterback Michael Van Buren. Signing this trio pushed the Bulldogs from the 40s into the 30s in the class rankings.

MSU also remained active on both sides of the ball in the portal after the Early Signing Day by adding four players. The Bulldogs added offensive guard Jacoby Jackson from Texas Tech, Wilky Denaud, a defensive lineman from Auburn, Stone Blanton, a South Carolina linebacker, and Kevin Coleman, a receiver from Louisville.

Expect MSU to lose players and add players via the portal after Spring practice as they continue to work toward the 85 scholarship limit.

There will likely be no drama for the Bulldogs on National Signing Day. The only movement for the Bulldogs will be officially signing their last two commits, a pair of receivers, Sanfrisco Magee and Matt Mayfield.
