The Wisconsin Women's Hockey team delivered a commanding performance in their regular-season home series against Bemidji State this weekend, solidifying their status as one of the top teams in women's collegiate hockey.

The Badgers' record against the Beavers now stands at an impressive 90-7-5. On Friday night, the Badgers displayed their dominance with a resounding 4-0 victory, followed by an even more impressive 8-1 win on Saturday.

Friday Night's Dominance

The Badgers set the tone on Friday night with an impressive 4-0 victory. Goals were scored by #11 Cassie Hall, #26 Casey O'Brien, #24 Katie Kotlowski, and #17 Britta Curl. This game marked the Badgers' 12th powerplay goal of the season, showcasing their prowess with the man advantage. Goalie Jane Gervais was in peak form, securing her third shutout of the season by turning away all 14 shots fired her way.

Reflecting on the victory, forward Casey O'Brien shared her pride in the team's performance, stating, "I was really proud of our team today. I thought we were moving the puck really well."

Saturday's Spectacular Showcase

Saturday afternoon brought another dominant performance as Wisconsin and Bemidji State faced off for the second game of the series. #28 Maddi Wheeler and #27 Kirsten Simms led the charge with two goals each. Britta Curl, Cassie Hall, #7 Kelly Gorbatenko, and #20 Vivian Jungels each added a goal during this thrilling match.

Britta Curl's impressive scoring streak continued, marking her seventh consecutive game with a goal, a feat that places her fourth in program history. Additionally, sophomore Kirsten Simms reached a significant milestone, surpassing 50 points in her college career.

Looking ahead, Wisconsin Women's Hockey will take their momentum on the road for a series against St. Thomas in Minnesota. The games are scheduled for Friday, October 27th, at 6 p.m. CT, and Saturday, October 28th, at 5 p.m. CT.
