A week after saying any new transfer addition will be mostly about luxury , WVU football head coach Neal Brown received word that his team is still in the mix to land a new tight end.

Transfer tight end Justin Wolf showed West Virginia as one of his top six schools on April 8. Wolf just added a “where’s home?” question to his post.

Despite feeling secure at the tight end position with Kole Taylor, the Mountaineers will still welcome more depth. That became evident when Wolf announced he received an offer from the WVU football program.

Wolf, a 6-foot-5, 250-pound tight end out of Wagner, revealed his offer from West Virginia last month. The Brooklyn, N.Y. native has two years remaining of eligibility.

To fully out into context how popular of a transfer Wolf actually is, the other five programs on his list are Alabama, Kansas State, North Carolina State, Syracuse, Texas A&M and UCLA.

WV Sports Now, who also talked to Wolf at the time of his WVU offer, got this back as why West Virginia remains one of the favorites.

“West Virginia continues to show me the love and consistency I look for. The coaches continue to build a connection with me and make myself seem needed at their program,” said Wolf.

Through 21 games in his college career, Wolf has seven receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown over the last three seasons. Wolf has been primarily used as an extension of the offensive line as a blocking tight end, but feels he can become a receiving threat if allowed to develop.
