With Hugh Freeze getting fired, plenty of interested eyes will be checking on Auburn players to see who might be interested in transferring. Here are the five players who would receive the most interest if they entered the transfer portal.

LB Xavier Atkins – Sophomore

  • 6-foot-0, 210-pounds
  • Houston, Texas

Atkins began his collegiate career at LSU before transferring to Auburn after his freshman season. During his one season at LSU, he only had three tackles while seeing spot duty in seven games. At Auburn he has started all eight games and leads the team with 69 tackles, 14 tackles for loss and seven sacks. He also has one interception, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Atkins currently leads the SEC in tackles and tackles for loss.

DL Malik Blocton – Sophomore

  • 6-foot-3, 300-pounds
  • Pike Road, Alabama

Athletic, young defensive tackles are always high priority in the portal. Blocton fits that mold. As a true freshman in 2024 he finished with 16 tackles, four tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. This season he has totaled 14 tackles, four tackles for loss and one fumble recovery while starting four games.

CB Kayin Lee – Junior

  • 5-foot-11, 180-pounds
  • Ellenwood, Georgia

Lee was an immediate contributor as a true freshman and continues to be consistent and reliable. This season he has 16 tackles, one interception and three passes defended, while during his 33 games he has totaled 66 tackles, two tackles for loss, three interceptions and 16 passes defended. An experienced SEC cornerback would be a top level target.

WR Eric Singleton Jr. – Junior

  • 5-foot-10, 180-pounds
  • Atlanta, Georgia

Singleton enjoyed two productive seasons with Georgia Tech before transferring to Auburn. With the Yellow Jackets he totaled 140 receptions for 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns. During his first season with the Tigers, he has 40 receptions for 379 yards and two touchdowns after being one of the most sought after available offensive players in the portal during the last cycle. He may decide to enter the NFL Draft, or after only averaging 9.5 yards per reception this season, would he look to transfer to showcase his skills for another collegiate season?

WR Cam Coleman – Sophomore

  • 6-foot-3, 201-pounds
  • Phenix City, Alabama

One of the top Class of 2024 high school receivers in the country, Coleman has impressed during his two seasons at Auburn. In 20 career games, he has totaled 74 receptions for 1,072 yards and 11 touchdowns. Considering the lack of a viable quarterback during his two seasons, this is production that would make him a high-level priority for many elite programs.
