The Wisconsin football team is poised to lose its second player to the spring transfer portal, and the second player who just transferred into the program this offseason.

Former Idaho wide receiver Mark Hamper, who transferred to the Badgers in December, is leaving the program and will be re-entering the transfer portal after a short stay in Madison.

He came to the Wisconsin football program as a four-star prospect out of the transfer portal. In his freshman season at Idaho, Hamper amassed 966 yards and six touchdowns on 48 receptions. He chose the Badgers over USC, Utah, Washington State, Stanford, and Arizona State.

Hamper has been absent from the last several practices. While he was gone, there was no shortage of players stepping up, including true freshman receiver Eugene Hilton Jr.

Ohio State transfer Jayden Ballard has also been making a lot of plays during spring practices and seems to have formed a solid connection with new Wisconsin quarterback Billy Edwards.

Hamper will have three years of eligibility with whatever school he transfers to.
