Clemson Football Depth Chart 2024: Injuries Heading Into Fall Camp
Ken Ruinard - staff / USA TODAY NETWORK

Though we likely won’t get an official 2024 Clemson football depth chart until the week of the Georgia game, injuries can undoubtedly affect playing time, particularly as fall camp heats up.

Dabo Swinney will speak to the media multiple times in the next few weeks, including at his Annual Media Kickoff and at ACC Media Days. Of course, one of the first questions asked will be about the health of his team.

Beginning in 2020 and running through the 2022 season, the Clemson football program seemed riddled with injuries. From losing wide receivers and offensive linemen to an outbreak of the flu, 2023 was no different. As we look ahead to the 2024 Clemson football season, there is undoubtedly an emphasis on keeping players healthy and ready to go for the upcoming season.

Here’s a look at the players who were dealing with injuries and held out of the Spring Game back in April:

  • WR Tyler Brown (foot surgery)
  • WR Troy Stellato (shoulder surgery)
  • WR Cole Turner (strained abdominal)
  • DT/DE Peter Woods (mono)
  • RB Jay Haynes (hamstring injury)
  • DT Vic Burley (hamstring injury)
  • OL Walker Parks (recovering from ankle injury)
  • CB Corian Gipson (suffered an ACL injury in high school)
  • S Ricardo Jones (fractured foot)
  • OL Ronan O’Connell (suffered an injury in high school)
  • WR Noble Johnson (injury from a car wreck)

There have not been too many updates over the summer—and this should be expected—but we did get one: Walker Parks has been cleared and will be back with the team. Parks revealed that he is back to 100%, and this is big news for the Tigers, who need quality offensive linemen to step up.

Peter Woods has been named a Preseason All-American and there’s no reason to believe he won’t be out there. Dabo Swinney revealed back in the spring that both Tyler Brown and Troy Stellato should be recovered by the time fall camp came around.

As far as the rest of these Tigers are concerned, we haven’t heard anything else as of yet. But that will all change soon once fall camp gets underway in just a matter of weeks and practices begin.

How will injuries affect the Clemson football depth chart?

No one wants to see injuries, but they are a part of the game.

Clemson needs to stay healthy, particularly on the offensive side of the ball. The Tigers simply have not been able to stay healthy at wide receiver the last couple of years and that needs to change this year. If everyone remains healthy, this could be the deepest wide receiver room that we’ve seen since the days of Trevor Lawrence.

There’s no way to know how injuries might affect the Clemson football depth chart, but the hope is that with the number of injuries that have piled up in the past few seasons, the Tigers might get a little bit of a break this season.
